Good Student Discount
For students who make good grades, many car insurance companies offer discounts on car insurance policies. This discount, on average is 10 to 15% off the cost of a policy.
Both high school and college students can be eligible for the good student discount. There are several ways a good student can qualify for this discount:
- Making the Dean’s List
- Ranking in the top 20% of one’s class
- Having a 3.0 grade point average
- Having a B average
- Making Honor Roll
- Ranking in top 20% for ACT or SAT test
- High results on standardized tests for home schooled students
Note that the discount may not apply to the entire cost of your student’s policy and may only discount bodily injury coverage, property damage liability coverage, medical payments, comprehensive and collision coverage. Check with your car insurance company or get a quote with us to find out what components of your insurance policy the good student discount can be applied to.
When you get your free car insurance quote, if you indicate that you have a good student driver, the discount will automatically be applied. Once you buy your policy you may have to provide proof to your insurance agent that your student meets one of the above requirements.
